DNV has over the past three years conducted research on the level of Cyber readiness in the global energy sector. It is part of DNV’s Cyber Priority research exploring changing attitudes and approaches to cybersecurity in key industrial sectors. The research is informed by a survey of 375 energy professionals, along with in-depth interviews with leaders and experts in the field. It is part of a wider survey of 1,185 professionals across critical infrastructure industries, including energy, maritime, manufacturing and healthcare. This report was developed by DNV in partnership with FT Longitude (a Financial Times company).
This is DNV’s third Energy Cyber Priority report. Research was carried out between September 2024 and January 2025. Survey respondents represent a range of functions within the industry, including those with in-depth knowledge of cybersecurity along with general managers and C-suite executives.
